The HERD Story

The HERD started from friendly banter at a party one Halloween night in 2010. Joe, Ken and Stan took on a challenge issued by Matt who had finished Vineman 70.3 that year. With the challenge accepted, The HERD founding fathers went on to complete the triathlon and The HERD was born. 10 years later, The HERD has expanded with friends and family to form a 20+ member team that spans across 2 generations including 3 different sets of father-son groups.

Today The HERD is offically recognized as part of the IRONMAN Tri-club program and has collectively participated in over 60 full distance IRONMAN events at the age-group level. Slightly serious about triathlon but never too serious about ourselves, the aspirations of the team are modest with the #1 goal being to always have fun and challenge ourselves to the best of our ability.

IRONMAN is now a lifestyle choice for the group... Swim - Bike - Run - And always "party hardest than the rest".
